... Its been a long time since I have been to your page, but I have never forgotten you, nor the good memories of you... Living in Ohio now for over 10 yrs, you would think that my memories of Montgomery and the old times would have left by now, but they are still strong in my head, and I miss my home and all the good times I had there with you and many others! ...I know you have been resting peacefully and one day I will get to see you again along with many others that have gone home to be with the Lord! I hope you have met my dad again, along with seeing Aunt Susie (boy did she love you like her own), and Granny who loved you very much! Life has changed for many of us over the years, but our memories are kept forever! You, Jerry, hold a special place in each one of our hearts that can never be replaced! You touched so many lives and in so many different ways.... Till I see you on that glorious day in the sky... Kimberly Spears-Nedoma

... My name is Mike Conners and I served in the Corp from 1958 to 1961. I was very touched by Jerry's Memory Book. First I must say to Jerry "Once a Marine, always a Marine".... When I opened his book I had my hat on that reads just that and Semper Fi, so I did what I was taught to do and stood at attention and saluted our National Anthem.......God Bless all of our service personel and their families. ... Dear Marilyn, As I was reading your web site for your son, I felt compelled to write to you. I too, lost my 25 year old son in Dec. of 2003. I'm still trying to recover; I don't know that I ever will. I miss him every day, my heart aches for him every day. Does it get better? There's a void in my heart that I don't think will ever be filled. My heart goes out to you, and all the other mom's that have lost their children. … ((Remainder of Kellie’s private thoughts are omitted by Mom from this posting )) …Well, Marilyn, thank you for listening. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Take care. (Gregg's mom, Kellie)

... Hello Angel, I just wanted to let you know that you are with me today and always. I will be going to the beach this fourth to enjoy friends and family and to celebrate having you in my life. Jessie will be with her grandpa enjoying the wonderful place which you helped him complete in the mountains. Please give him a "little visit" this weekend, as I am sure he will be thinking of nothing but you angel. By the way, Jessie is as spoiled as ever, I just ordered her very own toy box for all of those toys which we supplied her with over the years. She still hasn't learned to pick those things up! I love you baby and you will never stop filling my heart. I miss my little man! ...Always, Johnna

... I love and miss you Jerry. I sure wish you were here to grow old with us. I used to always think about you and Jim and me sitting around, 'retired', laughing and carrying on, talking about life. The memories of us growing up are what reminds me of who I am. Knowing you like I do reminds me of what it means to have character. Looking at the lives that you, Jim and me had coming up, I see we all developed our own unique character along the way. Some say that they would have given you the shirt off their back........I did. You knew without a shadow of a doubt that I loved you and that you could count on me. With a hug I greeted you. With the same and, 'I Love You', we parted. I left nothing unsaid that I needed you to hear. ... I still find myself in a state of confusion when I think of the fact that you are gone. That is something that I still cannot comprehend emotionally. ...I know that you can't wait to see our second child.... I can't either. My daughter knows who you are. She talks about you often.... I wish you were here.... I love you... Randall

... Brother, it has been such a joy to have had you in my life, but only if it was for such a short period of time. Days go by, followed by weeks, months and years, and still to this day and forever you will be one of my closest friends... No, you were MORE than my friend, you were my BROTHER. ...I have many memories of you. One that just crossed my mind was the picture that you drew of Benny HA! HA! and Gang. Drawing was one of your hobbies. I will always remember trying to draw like you could. We had alot of great times together, on and off the football field. It just seems like yesterday that I saw you last. I am sorry that it has taken so long for me to find this site, but you can bet that I will never forget it. I am not really fluent with my thoughts because I have so many running thru my head. I am not as poetic as some people, but I want you to know something... it is something that I never got to say to you::: "Jerry, I loved you like a brother and I always will. I was taught to never say goodbye but to say "See you later" and that I will, brother, I will see you later. We know not the place nor the hour so I beg of you, Jerry, keep a place warm for me... Love you Brother!" ... JOEL C. WILLIAMSON

... Hello My Angel... How can some days seem like an eternity and some seem like only yesterday? I enjoy so much reading how you touched so many lives in such a short period of time for such a "little man", my "little man". And you know everyone had the same thing to say ~ it was your smile. It was always about your smile to me, I just can't quite explain it. I hope you never get tired of me calling you that. Jessie celebrated her 6th birthday, what a big girl! I got her catnip bubbles from her daddy and she was absolutely scared to death! And of course I laughed as I'm sure you did too. Hey, I wonder if we could still make it rain together. Why don't you show me tomorrow, just for a few minutes just to let me know you are right there with me, OK, just like you used to do! I love you baby! You are always right with me! I miss you angel!

... Today is no different from any other...Jerry has crossed my mind at least once ... it just so happens that I'm in front of my computer; so, I can type my thoughts down. It's been a while since I've been on this site. Bobby Cincinnati has since posted an e-mail concerning Jerry (I still haven't figured the light-speed headlight thing out). Wow! I haven't spoken to Bobby in many, many moons. Reading Bobby's e-mail really uncovered a lot of memories about Jerry. I had forgotten what an influence Jerry had on me. ... Numerous times Jerry and I would engage in intense conversations about anything and everything. We thought we had all of the world's problems solved; or, we just tried to add to them (ha, ha). ...One of the last conversations that I had with Jerry was about the similarities of our paths to make something of ourselves. It seemed that neither one of us traveled the smoothest road to achieve some success in life. I'm sure there were a few times we both ran off of that road. Nevertheless, during that final conversation, we were both on our way over the hump. We were focused and we had momentum on our sides. It was like John Riggins up the middle on 3rd and short: hard to stop! ... For the first time I sensed satisfaction in Jerry, and in myself. To hear him speak about life was to hear me speak, and vice-versa .......... I miss you, Fleet ......

...Jerry, We were neighbors from childhood and later friends. While going through some things the other day I came across letters and cards that you sent to brighten my day or let me know that you were OK... immediately tears came to my eyes. That is the impact that you had and still have on everyone that knew you. You could lift our spirits with your smile or laugh. I am thankful that you were in my life and I will never forget the times that we spent together... I miss you and hope to hear your laugh again. Kelly

...I was deep in a jungle somewhere in the Honduras when I got the message about my brother. As I was being sent back to the rear (that's what they do when a notice of a loved ones death occurs), I could only think and remember the love of life and of each others company we had shared before we embarked upon our separate but similar journeys. I thought of all the things we did together. But we didn't hurt anybody or their feelings for that matter. We were loved and admired by many, envied by some, and hated by none. Women loved us and men wanted to be like us. We didn't care about all that. We had each other. And although we didn't see eye to eye on a 9 to 5 grind like we should have, we viewed life in a different perspective that most people couldn't even fathom. We talked about uncanny stuff when we were together. We saw life in it's brevity. Who else would think of how little we were in life's grand scale? We would compare our accomplishments in our lives to what had been accomplished in the formation of a rock, tree, creek, or for that matter, anything that had endured thousands of years on this Earth. But we pulled it off! We figured out how to move an immovable object against an irresistible force (by digging under it equal to it's mass and letting gravity pull it down out of the way). And people thought we were just goofing off. See, I told you! I love you and miss you in ways GOD only knows. (How do you think I found this site?) Anyhow, when I see you again you better have the answer to this one figured out by now...."If you're in a car traveling at the speed of light and you turn on the headlights, do they come on?" You have no excuse to miss this one. ...I didn't forget about our gym. I took me some time to figure out a good name for it now that you had to go. How about "J-J's" for Jerry and JESUS? Man, I bet you two make one awesome team! Talk to you later bro.' .....Bobby Cincinnati PS Drop me a line when you can find the time. Just kidding, you don't need PC's up there!

...Jerry and family, Tonight I thought about a lot of things in a short period of time, and notice how we so often take little advantage of the time we have. ..."Jerry, I pass by your burial site twice each day and remember how funny you will always be, you still make me laugh. You are missed by us all. I love you and your family." ...Thank you Marilyn for allowing me to still be part of your family and to remember him with you all. You're one of the many mothers I had growing up, thank you for that. ...Randy, I love you bro, you too Jim... Take care... (Randall, Call me). "Keep an eye on me and these boys, Jerry." .....Mark

... Sorry, Bud, that I didn't make it last year to wish you a Happy Birthday. I will this year. You are still so missed by everyone. There isn't a time that goes by that some of us from the area get together and we just sit and talk about you and the old times. You are a great person whom is sadly missed everyday that you have been gone. But you know what? When we talk about you it always brings tears to our eyes, but it also brings joy to our faces just to think of you. You always brought a smile to everyone's face. That is the way I will always remember you ~ Jerry with a big smile on his face and making everyone else smile along their hard day. Miss you.... Kimberly

Born on his Uncle Jerry's Birthday made him a little special. Even though we didn't see him very often, we remember him and his sparkling smile. When he was little, I will always remember teasing him about looking like the little boy that did the band aid commercial. He would always laugh. Those times can never be forgotten. I've never experienced the loss of a friend before the day that you left us. I love to think about the last time I saw you, as usual we departed with a hug -- I'm so glad we would do that. If I only knew that would be the last time I would see you on this earth I would have said so many things to you. I know you know I love you. You have always been one of the best! I keep your picture on my desk... when asked who you are by others, I can't help but think of the day you came to school and asked me if I thought anyone would notice your shaved eyebrows!! ... Jerry, I remember your sweet smile and honest ways. It seemed like no matter what was going on in your life you always had a smile on your face when you visited my house. Those were times of fun and laughter, but I also remember some very serious talks you and I had about life and mistakes and how to go on when you realize you have made these mistakes. You always talked to me whenever no one else seemed to notice I was even around, and for this I thank you. You will always hold a special place in my heart and are very missed ~ not only by your family but by all of the people whose lives you touch everyday. ...Jerry, You were a very kind and thoughtful person, this I remember and will never forget. You always stood for what you thought was right and you were always there to help others in need. I remember when we had no one to help with carrying my grandmother's casket, but you were there to lend a hand. She loved you so much and hoped one day you would be a part of the family. You were always there to put a smile on our faces and we loved to see yours as well. You have that unforgettable smile and those loving eyes. Those eyes have touched so many lives and no one that I know will forget them. I still can't understand you being gone. When I visit West Virginia, I always think you will be there somewhere 'hanging out' or just riding around. I know that you are in heaven shining down upon us with Jesus by your side. Someday we will see each other again. My faith in God helps me to keep those memories in my head. I look at your web page and cry but yet think to myself that you are in a great place where one day we will all meet again. Thank you, Jerry, for always looking out for me and being a friend..... ... Jerry, I can't describe how I feel when I think of God taking you..... confused? ..... unable to comprehend? ..... absent from reality? ..... I've never felt anything so painful in my entire life. I try to ignore it, but it is just a matter of time until it hits me in the chest again. I have a really hard time accepting the fact that I can't call you, or hop into my car and drive to you. I miss the hugs that we greeted and parted each other with... telling each other that we loved each other every time we talked. That feeling of closeness is irreplaceable. I thank God that I still have Jim. He is "one of a kind", just like you. I always looked forward to the three of us in our retirement years hanging around, laughing and carrying on, just enjoying each other's company. I would have given you my left arm, Bro, and I know you knew that. There is one thing that I'm glad you didn't have to go through ...losing Jim or me. I wouldn't wish that pain upon anyone. How I miss that sweet smile coming through my front door. You always appreciated the meals I would cook for you and enjoyed them so much. Jerry you always worked above and beyond the call of duty. No one could ever say you were the least bit lazy or would shy away from a minute of work. You always strived to do better. You are the son we never had and I thank God for that. I know you have finally reached the top, as I knew you would. You and the Lord together, what a remarkable team! Your mother gave me a very honorable title, "Mom2", that I will always cherish .
